Fine Victory for 5th Team vs. Kileen

Category 5 -v- Killeen in Bodenstown, 15th May

Team :- Denise Murphy, Norah Mullin, Angela O'Donoghue, Jane Burke and Leonie Colgan
Caddies :- Sheila O'Donoghue, Anne Rogers, Vera Healy, Evelyn O'Sullivan and Trish Nolan

This fixture proved to be very keenly contested. Denise got us off to a tremendous start winning at an early stage. Norah bravely managed to level on 18th. Angela's match was so tight all the way they couldn't be separated on the 18th. Jane (a rookie) played really well and won 5 & 3.

Manager Evelyn thought in all her innocence that's it - 2 wins and 2 halves = 3 We've won but was quickly informed by all and sundry that a match could not be halved!!!

So off set Norah and Angela down the 19th. Meanwhile Leonie was coming up the 18th allLeonie square!! Could this young rookie hold her nerve?? No problem - she won giving us an overall win which is just as well because Angela's match was so tight they'd probably be still out there.

Everyone, including the caddies played a blinder.

Next match against Slade Valley on 12th June in Lucan at  11 45.
