Hard Luck Girls!

Hard luck to the Ladies 5th team (30 - 36), who lost their semifinal of the AA Championships in Seapoint.  The team played brilliantly on the day and were unlucky to lose out to a very experienced Lucan team who have been down this road many times before.

Leonie had a fine game of golf and never put a foot wrong, winning comfortably on the 14th.  Janet decided to put us through the agony and the esctacy by going down the 19th again!.  She was unlucky to lose out this time.

Evelyn, Norah and Janet all played great golf and were unlucky to lose late in the game.

This is really a great achievement for this team - many of whom were playing in matchplay for the first time.  Reaching the last four, when 84 started out, is no mean feat.

A few thanks...

Evelyn - thanks for being a great captain.  You really steered and motivated the team well and all appreciate the work you put in to getting us so far.

Vera - thanks for standing in as captain when Evelyn had to play.

All the caddies over all the rounds... thanks for all the help, support and guidance you gave to the players

Norah, Peggy, Angela O, Margaret O, Janet, Jane, Leonie, Evelyn, Vera, Denise, Clodagh...  thanks to all of you for being part of the team from the beginning.  You all played a great part in helping us to get so far.  Roll on next year!!
