Club Sweep on Euro 2008
It’s that time again folks and the summer kicks off with Euro 2008 football finals. Unfortunately, the Republic’s soccer team won’t be there but the club will run a sweep anyway. The sweep will be run similar to previous ones like the Rugby World Cup.

The details are as follows:
Each entrant will be allocated 4 teams, one from each of the 4 pools as drawn by EUFA. Points are awarded based on match results, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. The result after extra time will count. If a match goes to penalties, both teams receive one point but the winner of the penalty shootout will be awarded a further 2 points.

Since there are only 16 teams in the finals, entries will be limited.
A minimum guaranteed 1st prize of €200 will apply but if sales go well, first prize can go as high as €450. Prizes will also be awarded for 2nd & 3rd and last Place.
Entry fee €10 and teams are available from Bob Ockenden or John Curran.
